The Rise of “Coaching”

Life and Executive Coaching are on the rise. Why? With greater “professionalism“ in this growing sector, it‘s important to understand what Coaching can achieve. It’s equally important to find the right “elite” coach for you or your organisation.

Choosing the right coach provides immense benefits but you can only know that once you have experienced it.

Coaching can

  1. help to build confidence at all levels

  2. improve assertiveness skills

  3. provide greater clarity that has previously been masked

  4. lead to more effective decision making

  5. unravel the right tools for you personally to manage stress or tough emotions

  6. actively help you to move forward

  7. show you how to be yourself

  8. build stronger, more effective teams supporting impactful communications as well as greater business results

  9. can reduce conflict - inner or external/team conflict

  10. help you through difficulties in life, health, relationships or work.

There is so much more too as most situations for which Coaching is sought are unique or certainly have their own unique dimension.

Having been a recepient of coaching myself with a professionally accredited coach, as well as well as other services aimed to provide support to move forward, it was Coaching that really helped me with actionable steps, accountability and results. Quickly. This is what Coaching can do for you. It is goal, or results, focused. It also works for individuals personally and within businesses (for example, team effectiveness Coaching, conflict management, leadership Coaching).

As a member of the International Coach Federation, myself and other coaches like me, invest in constant development to be the best coaches that we can be for you. To serve clients, to support and motivate them to be the best of themselves is a privilege and I want to bring my best self to sessions. Coaching undertaken from such a dedicated stance is what I believe has led to the rise of Coaching. Professional coaches enable individuals and businesses to thrive much more effectively through structure, accountabity, support and a results focused approach. Many of the most successful people have had experience with a Coach.

The International Coach Federation (ICF) recognises those coaches who commit to their standards and ethics regarding service levels and professional conduct:

"ICF Credential-holders are part of a self-regulating group of elite coaches who provide accountability to clients and the coaching profession as a whole. They pursue and complete rigorous education and practice requirements that provide unquestioned legitimacy to their commitment to excellence in coaching."

Whilst coaches are self-regulating, the ICF is like the Law Society or regulatory body for any other industry. It sets out the rigorous requirements for professional coaches to abide by. Serious coaches follow their standards. It helps to keep the profession strong and coaches accountable.

You can see here why, briefly, Coaching is on the rise. Once taken up, clients never look back.

If you are thinking about change, and want some proactive support and motivation, a coach could be just what you need. Most coaches offer an initial free consultation so that you can find the right coach. Why not take up the offer and see where it takes you or your organisation?
